Tommy Hilfiger's New Face

I'm not going to lie, I have never been a massive fan of Tommy Hilfiger, in reality I prefer the vintage items I find in Camden and Urban Outfitters but maybe this new remodel might be the new best thing for the brand. After what I think is a horrible nautical inspired range with GiGi Hadid then I'm hoping that this 'remodel' will be the growth and new look that this brand kinda needs.

After the stand out NewYork fashion show this year Tommy Hilfiger proved that he was willing to do anything he could to make his brand the new brand he wanted it to be. In order to make the brand have the new young look he was looking for there was a heavy social media influence throughout the whole launch. With over 2 million interactions of platforms such as; Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook he was proving that he was able to aim the new range at the people that mattered the most; the young generation, the people who would be buying his brand for the many years to come.

If there is something that I am quite confused about is the angle to which he is aiming to come at the rework from. Why is he taking influence from the 90's and then creating outfits that have the strongest sea influence ever. Both the ideas and the new collection do not meet up or work well together. I'm struggling to see how his idea is coming across in these new pieces.

"While he is focused on growing his brand globally and digitally,he also wants to expand cautiously and judiciously, after a period in the '90s when the brand grew too fast. "We learned that growing quickly is not healthy for the brand,"

It is clear from the rework and even previous history of the brand that they as a company and a collective understand what needs to be done to make the brand work, however it still feels as though they aren't quite reaching the aims that they want to with the new range. I never know maybe they could release something amazing in the next season, but at the minuet I'm struggling to see how they might at this moment in time.
