Most of the time when I'm looking throught the 100+ of photographed models or celebrites selling you brands at the front pages of magazines I have seen them all before and therefore will just glaze over them and not stop and look that much at what they have to offer. But I stopped at this Dior post. I stopped looked and was quite surprised when it sank in who it was that was looking back at me. Boy George, yes the guy behind Culture club and the strange Camelion song was now the new face of one of the biggest fashion houses in the world, and the images were not what I thought they would be when you describe Boy George to anyone. There wasn't any loud over the top colours, long hair or even that much makeup, in fact they were kinda plain. But the plain that just seems to work.
Over the past couple of their campaigns Dior has been able to reach a wide range of people, they have shown the older generation the likes of ASAP Rocky and now those fans will see what their mum and dads were fans of back in the 80's. They're spreading their brand wide and through the years. It's more then just the it Hadid sister, FENDI & DKNY take notes, they're old use, get us an 80's pop star that wears eyeliner and cool hats.
It's nice to see brands who like Dior might not be well known for breaking the rules, but when they do something cool and out of their comfort zone they get it so right. It works so well and there is so much to see.
As a brand they have been able to select 3 of the most, you could say unlikely faces for their new campaigns, all of which will individually make their own time as the brands face.
