Game Set Match

This isn't what we thought when we first heard our title. We thought tennis, and pitches and football. We came near to sports luxe with the brands being more high end and high fashion. We didn't image street style brands like palace and supreme coming up within Vogue.

Something we de see was the 3 main themes with in the images themselves:
- Florals
- Geometric
- Androgynous

There was a very clear colour palette throughout the editorial, greens, purples, reds and pinks featured heavily throughout all images and this is something that we wanted to put across in the ideas when thinking of what to do in our photoshoot. As well as the colour palette featuring through the images there was a strong feel that the main image was to showcase the clothes and bring the two trends of florals and sport luxe together. Both factors are opposites of each other, brands like champion and palace are more seen as ideals to the street style 'fashion' sports wear and as soon as far away from the girly female trend as it cold be. By mixing them together he shows both sides of two big trends mixed together to create one.

Craig McDean, born in 1964 is a photographer and videographer best known for his portrait style and bold black and white images, however her does have a strong colour and geometric urban feels with images he has created for publications such as Vogue and I-D. He was a intern to photographer Nick Knight and it is clear from his colour images that he got his love of colour from him, his colour editorials clearly resemble those of the palette used by Knight.  But still McDean has his own style in the way he takes many photos and the success he has had in doing so.
