Why Don't You Go Where Fashion Sits Puttin' On The Ritz.

Okay so we all know that CHANEL, and good old Karl himself know how to put on a run way show, a straight cat walk and thumbing base music doesn't even cross his mind, so there is no surprise that  CHANEL's Métier d’Art 2017 runway at the Ritz Paris was yet again another show to fashion, it included the likes of Pharrell Williams and Cara Delevingne and had the complete embodiment of Parisian style making the likes of Miss Chanel herself proud.

And don't be fooled by thinking this was set in one of the most fabulous hotels just for everyone to feel as though they were attending a posh dinner, oh no, it goes further than that. Karl took inspiration for the whole collection from us ladies wore on a regular night out to the Ritz during the glamorous period of the 1950's. Everything from the laid back style of music, to the mix of women, men and young children let everybody know this was a fun show, the models could dance when they wanted, smile at the people sat around the table and even shimmy a little as they strut their stuff in some of the most eye catching garments yet. The collection itself covers many genres of fashion, from the 40s and 50s right on through to some more modern day influences to spice things up a bit. But the one which is most clear is genre Coco Chanel herself. The 1920s and 1930s. This was in all respect the era of Chanel. The two piece suit, sequins and pearls are what we know Chanel for  right up until this day. So of course it only made sense to take us back to this time which those exact items.

Amongst the famous faces to walk the run way was the young and new face of the latest Chanel fragrance; Lily Rose Depp. Daughter of international french model Vanessa Paradis Miss Depp is making her own name for herself within the fashion media world, already having graced the cover of LOVE magazine, VOGUE and Grazia it is clear that this 17 year old is setting up the building blocks for a strong headed career in a business we all long to be a part of.
